Start of operation for ‘Ariette’ battery installation, The Netherlands
This battery project has been developed between Toyota Tsusho Europe SA and Eurus Energy Europe BV (global organization that operates wind and solar farms around the world). The project was started in 2022. We jointly invested in the operating company Ariette ESS B.V. Our aim is to enter energy trading business in Europe and to create a new business model with batteries.
Today we proudly announce the successful commissioning and start of operation of the ‘Ariette’ battery project. This containerised battery energy storage system (BESS) has a capacity of 1 MW and 2.5 MWh. The BESS is co-located with the Eurus-owned ‘Windpark Mondriaan’ near Delfzijl, The Netherlands. By sharing a grid connection with the windfarm, the BESS makes optimal use of existing infrastructure. It will provide various services to grid operators and mitigate energy imbalance on the electricity grid, facilitating wider deployment of renewable energy generation.
