Our CSR and Priorities

Toyota Tsusho Group has identified the priority issues and they are related to 14 of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). If every employee engages in business activities with these CSR priorities in mind, this will lead to sustainable growth of the company as well as contribution to the resolution of social issues and achievement of the SDGs. These CSR priorities will be reviewed periodically.

Health and Safety Policy

Toyota Tsusho Europe region is committed to provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment, not only for all employees but for any stakeholder on its premises or any areas of operations.

This commitment shall be supported but not limited by:

  • Complying with local law and following all applicable requirements of our customers and/or related companies.
  • Providing employees with all necessary trainings, information, equipment, supervision and resources to conduct their work in safe manner.
  • Implementing and applying a health and safety management system with clear communication rules to ensure efficient information share at all levels.
  • Emphasizing that it is every employee’s responsibility, from Top Management to operators to report immediately any situation which could jeopardise the wellbeing of either themselves or any other person.
  • Promoting “Anzen First” mind-set with all available resources
  • Encouraging preventive actions and carry out regular risk assessments.
  • Encourage the reporting and recording of all accidents/near misses and then provide sufficient accident analysis and countermeasure implementation.

Our CSR Philosophy

Toyota Tsusho Corporation's Corporate Philosophy sets forth the company's raison d' etre and the resolve with which it manages its operations. Our Behavioral Guidelines define a code of action for all executives and employees. Toyota Tsusho's basic management philosophy is based on a Fundamental Philosophy of unchanging ideals that should be passed on to future generations. In order to pass on a better global environment to the children of the future, as a responsible corporate citizen, we promote environmentally considerate business activities, work to solve environmental issues, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

1. Compliance

1-1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
We comply with international declarations, conventions, treaties, and the laws and regulations of the countries and regions where we operate, as well as other industry standards. In addition, we conduct due diligence to identify and appropriately address potential environmental risks when expanding our business through mergers and acquisitions.

2. Addressing Environmental Issues

2-1. Response to Climate Change
We contribute to the transition to a decarbonized society by utilizing clean energy, such as renewable energy, and innovative technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles, factories, and facilities. We aim to achieve a carbon-neutral society in line with the Paris Agreement by promoting emission reductions not only in our own business activities but also across the entire supply chain.

  • Realization of Carbon Neutrality:
    We reduce greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2) by 50% compared to 2019 and work towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, in accordance with our "Carbon Neutral Roadmap 2030."
  • Investment Stance on Fossil Fuel-Related and Green Energy Businesses:
    We will not make new investments leading to fossil-fuel expansion and will proceed to withdraw from existing coal, heavy oil and gas-fired power generation businesses, while strengthening investments in green energy.
  • Adaptation to Climate Change:
    We will implement actions and technologies to adapt to future climate change to ensure the continuity of our business.
